Hey, I am also experiencing the same problem. I have GamePass Ultimate, which provides access to EA Play.
I downloaded BF2042 and launched it, but nothing. Precisely the same failure as above.
Repaired the files through the EA app, no difference.
Ran as administrator, no difference.
I can play my other BF games, but not BF2042.

Hey all,
Could you try to go to <folder where you have installed BF2042>\Battlefield 2042\__Installer\vc\vc2015\redist > double-click on the x64 redist file and choose Repair?
After that, reboot the PC and check if it launches now.
And if i try to launch as administrator it shows me "Your game failed to launch" "An error on our end caused your launch to fail. Try again a little later."
I too at one point had the beta but thinking back I never could get it to open...
BF 2042 simply will not install on our EA APP even though we have EA PLAY.
Can anyone help us get this major issue resolved?

Glad to read that you can start the game now. My BF 2042 still is not installing. I keep getting an error saying download failed and to try again later. Can we still get help getting this resolved?

I simply cannot do that because as I keep stating my issue is the game simply wont download on my account. So no game folder to go to and repair anything. Can we please get this issue escalated to the proper team now? This has been going on far too long.

Could you share the EA app logs & the EA Error Reporter ID with us?
The EA app logs can be found in "C:\ProgramData\EA Desktop\Logs" and "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\Logs" (without the quotation marks) and it would be nice if you could put them in a .zip or .rar file and upload them here as a post attachment.
Please also generate an EA Error Reporter ID and share this ID here. The EA Error Reporter ID can be generated by clicking on the hamburger menu in the top-left corner > Help > EA Error Reporter.

Well, it's odd because I know exactly what the issue is, and when it occurred. When I purchased BF2042 back when it released I ended up playing a few hours, didn't like the state it was in and requested a refund. The refund was denied. Apparently no great game guarantee. I had to dispute the charge with my Credit Card company, which they honored. Ever since then, I have been unable to re-download BF 2042. The game itself has been restricted from downloading and or installing on my account. Whoever restricted the game from my account is the only person who can unrestrict the game from my account. Now if they don't want to do that then just say so, so I can move on. But that's the issue and how it can be resolved.
