Restart the computer > Try again.

Which anti-virus program do you use?

Was EA Desktop installed on this system before?

Is "controlled folder access" of the defender activated?

You are not accessing EA Desktop over the xBox Game Pass?

Your "Download" folder the, the folder the normal and the MSI installer is in, is on the C: (System) drive?

    • Press the Windows key and "R" at thee same time.
    • Copy and paste %PROGRAMDATA% into the new window > hit ENTER.
    • Look for a "EA Desktop" or an "Electronic Arts" > EA Desktop folder.
    • If present, delete the folder > Reboot > Try the installation again.

    - Controlled folder access not active.
    - When im trying install ea desktop over the xbox app no difference same thing happened over there.
    - Mine install folder and setup folders in C:drive, i tried already other drives nothing changed.
    - At 'Programdata' there is no Electronic Arts or Origin related folder.

    Thank you for your help.

I cant figured out what is the problem i tried many solutions in that Forum but always failure.

Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply.

Also go to your Reliability monitor > Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time and copy and paste or type "perfmon /rel" (without the quotes) in the new Window > hit “ENTER” and look if it has entries for the game you have trouble with.

If yes double click at the last entry for the launcer, copy the info to the clipboard, and save it to a text file.

You can attach the DxDiag text file you created (and the “Reliability monitor” text file as well) to your post in the “Reply” window with the “Choose File” button.

The  installer crashes with a buffer overrun FAIL_FAST_FATAL_APP_EXIT_c0000409 exception.

That means the Windows Kernel detects the buffer overrun and shuts down the application (the game) immediately due to security reasons.

The "ucrtbase.dll" mentioned here has nothing to do with the problem itself, and it is a complicated error because there is no indication where it comes from.

    1. Preform a full virus and malware scan of your system.
    2. If you did not do it until now, preform a clean boot , disable your virus scanner and other security software as well as Afterburner or similar software if you use them, and test the Game in clean boot mode.
    3. Hit Windows key and X.
Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered.
Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
If errors are found, notify us. If no errors were found reaped steps 1 & 2.
Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here.
After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key and X again.
Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command Prompt (Administrator)”
Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “sfc /scannow” without quotes. >ENTER.
Post the message you receive at the end of the processes here.

Hi Holger i already tried this methods before.

There are people who have the same problem as me in other forums, they tried everything but they can't solve this problem.

The only solution we could find was formatting the computer.

    Formatting solve our problem.

    Thank you for your support.

    Have a nice day.
