Hey @ebleek while offline play is not available during the EA Desktop Beta you can still access your game through Origin which has an offline feature.

Hi Darko, thank you for that reply, I want to ask how can I access my games using origin?, I'm also an Xbox game pass ultimate user that's how i got my EA Play subscription

If using EA Play through Xbox Game Pass @ebleek then you will not be able to access it on Origin.

So first you say you can set it offline mode. Then someone tells you thats not true becuase the EA App won't even start without an internet connection.

Then you amend your statement and say, no EA Play won't work offline, you can use Origin offline mode.

Then because we are using EA Play and therefore are not allowed to use Origin, you tell us we won't be able to play offline, which frankly is *. If we download non-multiplayer games like Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order and we lose internet connection we should still be able to play, but for some reason you guys have designed this app so that if we don't have an internet connection it literally will not launch.

Hey @SHDW_Saint I was mistaken, you can play games you own on EA offline but not EA Play.

If you wish to use EA Play games through Game Pass then you will need to be online.

If you have EA Play through the EA App or Origin then you can play it on both.

Also, as the app is still in Beta changes are being made all the time.

Please understand what we are saying

1. I have EA app on a PC...

2. I bought Fifa 22...

3. I have EA access *but

4 I purchased the game...

I still need access to Internet if i want to play fifa 22 (same with fifa 21 sam with fifa 20) all purchased...

Yet i need Internet to launch the app first man understand 

The EA app doesn't work offline period 

If you own the games @CJustin416 then you can play them on Origin which has an offline mode.

As the EA App is still in beta features are being added all the time.

No. if you have zero internet, you can not log onto to origin. You can if you clicked the keep me signed in option, but if you forgot to do that then you can't.

It's so annoying cos I own the game,  its installed on my computer but i can't play it if my internet goes out for days on end. Its a really sh#tty system. Spend thousands on sims and I'm at the mercy of these stupid login apps. 

@EA_Darko I am still having issues with the offline mode without using a internet connection and keeping it on offline mode so i can go back to my Sims 4 game any time or day I want, but it keeps giving me a something's amiss message after keeping it on offline mode for a long duration of time so I wouldn't need to use Wi-Fi or my phone's hotspot. I am pretty irritated by this because I don't have the money to afford wi-fi where I live to keep logging in and restarting the app so my Sims 4 EPs, stuff packs and kits can be included with the base. If not then only the base game is on offline mode and can be played, but not ANY of the packs included and kits included. Will there be any improvements on the offline mode in the near future or is this just about it for offline mode capabilities?

I buy fiffa23 and Need for Speed Unbund from Steam, so when I start this games from Steam its open EA app and start from there, before on my windows 10 I hed Origin insted EA app and I never have any issue, so now I cant start those games in offline mode, I read all this conversationts and look all help on youtube and google but I cant solve problem and now I use windows 11, for example I also play Forza Horizont 5 only from Steam and work perfect in offline mode, but those first 2 games via EA app no way to start in offline even there says when I put EA app offline mode show me that I can play both game but when I click on them nothing happend, so please can you help me with this or explain me step by step what I have to do becouse this is so anoying and I dont have all time internet, I am in prison so I need offline mode 🙂

Agree this is a terrible user experience. And a costly one. I am discouraged to continue buying further EA games because I can't trust whether the gating mechanisms will work from one day to the next.  If I'm out $50 for one game that's not the end of the world, but for EA you guys are out a few hundred because I can't trust your platform.  Pennywise, pound foolish on the programmers'  and QA budgets, I would wager.

I'm having the exact same problem trying to start Sims 4 in offline mode. Like, there was a huge game update a few days ago that will 100% break a lot of mods I currently use, so the go-to method for the past 8 years was always just to switch to offline and wait for all modders to update their stuff and keep playing with the previous built in the meantime. Now we simply can't do that. What a bunch of nonsense. And knowing EA's track record; even without any mods in, I'm sure there'd be tons of glitches/bugs regardless because there ALWAYS is when a new Sims 4 update comes out. Absolutely infuriating.

This whole app nonsense is a joke. I have Sims 3 on PC and I can't even launch the game without internet access. EA app will not launch without internet connection. There is an option to go offline when you are logged in but that is useless because you need internet connection to access that option in the first place.  And I could not install Sims 3 game using my game disc. What a waste of money! Absolute joke.

We have confirmation that it is by design that we cannot play in offline mode anymore.

I want to play mass effect on pc it won't open without an internet connection but I don't have one right now. The game has been purchased and installed LOCALLY why. Can. It. Not. Open.....  if you say the same thing then it's clear you know nothing or can't be bothered

Has this been fixed now since we no longer have access to Origin?

I can no longer access my game through origin since EA took over. Which is very frustrating. I’ve never had any problems with Orgin when it came to accessing my sims game offline. Now here comes the problem with EA. When will you all have the offline option available for EA, because not everyone is fortunate to have Internet connection, which is why off-line should be assessable because people should be able to enjoy the game that they paid for rather they have Internet or not.  

That’s a lie! I can’t even launch my game without an internet connection! It’s annoying I didn’t have these problems with origin!

We’ve been forced to download EA so we can no longer access origin! This is so annoying. How does EA not have an offline mode?! 

no you cant, i tried turning on EA origin, a big screen splash overlay pops up stating you MUST install EA APP and i have no access to Origin's features. Im about to go offline for a few months will have no access to the internet. Where is the OFFLINE MODE like Uplay and STEAM on teh EA APP. Another thing ive noticed is when you try and go offline the EA APP will constantly try and connect you to the EA APP online non stop and then it crashes if it cant connect , then you cant play ANY GAMES.........................I dont even like multiplayer, hate it. I play sports games for their career adn franchise modes in single player. Have zero interest in playing cheats and hackers on multiplayer games online, my only interest is offline with friends in person, not online. 

So where is the EA APP's OFFLINE MODE that once connected does not have to connect back to the internet.......

It also constantly says "We'll keep trying to reconnect you"....no that's not what i want. I need an offline mode that does NOT try and reconnect me when i choose the offline mode option.

I feel the same. After a while, you get a message that the EA app is being restarted. This is so annoying. And then this workaround comes up again and again: you restart, can then log in again, then you find that no games are recognized in the library, then you go to the task manager and delete the background "Service", ONLY THEN you can play again. I only play offline because your patches are a danger and destroy more than help.
