Is it important to try these steps in this order or even all of them?

I tried each of them and checked afterwards whether the game would launch. For clearing the cache, the pop-up window would freeze and stay black for me.

Unfortunately the original game error persists.

I've got exactly the same problem.  I've tried on two different laptops, same results, been trying for 3 days now.  I've gone through all the suggestions above.  The game has been working on one of the laptops previously, but now I get the Failed to launch game message.  I therefore tried loading one the other (newer) laptop and get the same message.  Is there a problem centrally?  Both laptops easily meet the spec required and, as I say, the game used to play perfectly on one of the machines. Help please.  If you need any log files or anything just let me know.

Is there anyone out there to help please?

It doesn't work
