If you linked your steam account before, you log in to your EA on the browser by steam account and it requires you to change the password, you will type your EA ID linked to steam and reset the password. Hope it will fix it for you

Now, why on earth they don't just say this is what needs to be done on the error screen is beyond me. I literally was playing something early this morning, then 7 hours later I couldn't launch from Steam. Empty cache, tried closing the ea background app, restart pc. Nope, needed to update pasword for some reason.

I have tried to link my steam account to ea account about 10 times now. I try to log into ea launcher via my steam credentials. It opens the steam wesbite and I click allow to link EA. Then it prompts me to change my password. When I click to change password it says it sent my an email. I click "back to log in" it gives me an error and says "too many redirects try clearing cookies". I try clearing cookies and get the same thing. But I still get the email to change my password. So I change my password, for the 11th time. Go back to steam to try to link my ea, same thing happens, prompts me to change my password. Im stuck in a vicious loop.

Change my EA password fixed it for me, my previous one was "expired" so i had to reset a new one
This is how i fixed it:
1.) Open ea games
2.) Link xbox games friends
3.) Figured out some hacker associated another account.
4.) Reached out to support they unlinked.
5.) Tried linking my friends.
6.)reboot.
7.) Installed EA games via game pass

I am glad these steps worked for you. I am sorry about the hacker part but at least you were able to find that out now and not later on. 👍 I hope these help others out too.

Good thing that you can not get in touch with live support as the field to select your platform does not have any options to select. And the field is needed to send a request.... This is so sad what you are doing to your customers. I have been trying to play your games for years and you always make it so hard that I quit before even launching the game.
In case people are still having issues. This is how I fixed it. the issue here is that you need to link your Steam account to your EA account and make sure you are signed into that EA(the account linked with steam) account on the EA app.
For some reason, I had multiple EA accounts and on the EA app,I was logged into the wrong EA account. So every time I tried to lunch EA FC 24 on Steam, it was trying to reach out to my EA app that had FIFA but it didn't work.
To fix.
1.Go to your EA account and go to connections.(Customer Portal (ea.com)). Make sure your EA account is linked to Steam, if not do that.
2. Sign-into your EA app with the EA account(email address) that is linked to your Steam and make sure Fifa is installed. This a good sign.
3. Now simply start FIFA from steam and it should work.
