To change the language in the EA app, follow these steps:

1. Open the EA app and log in to your EA Account.
2. Click the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner, or click your EA ID in the top-right corner.
3. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
4. Go to the Application tab.
5. Under Application settings, find the Language dropdown menu.
6. Choose your preferred language from the list.

The language dropdown is unresponsive. Clicking it does nothing.
I can't change it from the default English.

You have to disable touch screen drivers of the handheld.

As google says: "To disable the touchscreen on a handheld PC, you can use the Device Manager in Windows. Navigate to Human Interface Devices, find the HID-compliant touch screen, right-click, and select "Disable device". A verification popup may appear, requiring confirmation to proceed. "

Change language of EA app or of the games, and enable the device again.
