Server encountered a mysterious error...

Yesterday, when I tried booting up the EA app, I got this error message: "Something went wrong. The server has encountered a mysterious error. Try again in a little bit."

every time I boot up the app it stays like this for a couple of seconds:

...and then immediately cuts to this:

I decided I would wait a bit to see if the issue resolves itself, but to no avail. I still can't connect to EA's servers and still can't play any of the games I paid for. Does anyone know how to fix this? I couldn't find any recent or relevant info about this online.

    No solution, but i have the exact same issue. Haven't used the app in a while and only fired it up to let it check for updates, can't use the app due to error 500. Friend says he can see me online though, despite me not having access..
