Re: updated to the new EA app. Now Crysis 3 will not open or update

Here is an actual fix.

Restart your PC and close EA if you have it running

Open Powershell as an administrator and use the following code:

Remove-Item -LiteralPath "Y:\Origin\Crysis 3\dlc" -Force -Recurse

Replace Y:\Origin\Crysis 3\dlc with whatever path you have Crysis 3 installed to, just make sure it points to the DLC folder.

Open EA again and you should be rid of the Lost Island DLC which causes the issue.

If that doesn't work you might have to take ownership of the Crysis 3 folder, give yourself the highest permission and try the above again.

Be aware that if you input the wrong directory it will be deleted without asking you are sure so be very careful with what you enter!

EDIT: The non remastered version is busted on modern AMD cards, all kinds of framerate issues and capped at 64FPS.

Apparently there are workarounds for this but I don't trust Rivatuner at all to not install other junk by itself when you get the software.

Sorry but my native language isn't English so what do you mean by, or how do I open "Powershell"?

  • @WWDiver1 Little late on the reply but ehh, open the start menu and type in powershell, click on Windows PowerShell to open it, it should show you a blue or black box in which you can input code then follow the posted steps.

Come to think of it, if you follow all the steps you might be able to delete the folder by just browsing to it and hitting delete instead of using code, I just happened to do it this way.

Also, it isn't my native language either so don't worry haha.
