@projektpooh I had the exact same issue and could not install a newly purchased expansion pack. Like you, my new expansion pack was showing as "in game content" and the old expansion packs were showing as "installed". I found a solution that worked for me - follow the instructions outlined in this video (and the pinned comment): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og3POZYSNvw. Once I logged into Origin, it automatically downloaded my new expansion pack. When I opened the EA app and Sims 3 launcher, my new expansion pack showed as installed. Hope this helps!
They have been refusing to fix the issue for months now. It's not that they can't it's that they won't. The issue seems to only occur on older games. Them not fixing it is corporate saying do not provide support for older games, so people focus more on buying newer games. The way to see any action is for -no one- -anywhere- to buy any EA games through the EA App/Origin and eventually they will have to fix it just to save revenue. They know the chances of this happening though are slim to none. Do not use the EA App. Do not use Origin. Buy and download your games elsewhere.
