So just like everyone else here, I too have been having problems with installing Sims 3 DLC; mainly the sims 3 pets. Every other one of my packs installs just fine as well as the sims 3 itself, but any time I try to install the sims 3 pets it doesn't even start. The download immediately pauses and says something went wrong and I get a pop up message saying an unknown error has occurred and I'm instructed to either restart the app or reach out to the support team for help. I have tried what feels like everything to fix this issue, uninstalling, reinstalling, creating new folders, updates, restarting the app and my computer, I went to the sims community discord and tried the things they recommended, and checking my firewall to allow the EA app and the sims 3 through and checking my controlled folder access to allow both access there too and nothing has worked. Sadly, I'm guessing the only thing I can do now is wait for EA to hopefully fix this issue so that I can play with all of my packs again, because it's just not the same playing the game knowing I have missing content that I paid for.

Hi all. I was able to download the base game but none of my expansion packs. I was able to install showtime because it was a 'CD'.
The way I fixed my problem was purchasing 'EA Play' or whatever that is, once I did all the expansions were able to download. *EYEROLL*
I have tried all that origin, patch, whatever mess, and customer support was UNHELPFUL.
This was a work around, although it costs money, which is TERRIBLE in my opinion.
It is a solution.
Hi, I am also having the same issue as everyone else on this thread and have tried everything to get my sims 3 expansions to work. Buying the ea play membership was the only way I could get the expansions to download. It's super messed up that I have to pay to be able to play games I've already purchased. So excited for Life By You to come out so I can stop dealing with dumb issues like this.
Buy the EA play. They're running a promotion until the 17th for 99 cents. My final expansion downloaded with no issues as soon as the transaction went through. I canceled as soon as the game downloaded fully.
