Sims 3 or 4 only in English after going from Origin for Mac to EA app for Mac

Hello, last night origin was replaced by EA app on my MAC, unfortunately, when that happened, The Sims 4 are now in english even though it should be in Czech as it was before.... EA app is not in Czech, but Origin was and I had no problems with that. Currently, I`ve tried reinstalling the game and ea app few times, every time the result is the same - I specifically choose the game to be installed in CZECH but this great EA app still installs it in English. Would be nice if somebody could actually do something about it. Right now my game and all of DLC`s are useless to me. Which is very disappointing from your side EA.

CM edit: edited title for clarity.

  • ACCEPTING AS SOLUTION FOR VISIBILITY PURPOSES ONLY

We've received news from the EA app dev teams that this issue has been resolved with the release of the EA app for Mac version 13.166 (or above). However, it is possible that you either need to repair or reinstall the game in order for the game to be in your preferred language again.

The EA app for Mac should automatically update to the latest version in some time, depending on how often you open the client. A restart of the client can also trigger the update.

If you're still experiencing the issue after repairing or reinstalling the game, please report it here in the thread.

    Thank you.

  • I've recently had to migrate from Origin to the EA App (version 13.206) on my Mac (Sonoma 14.5 (23F79)) and experienced the same issue. The game is supposed to be in English, but it runs in Czech. After migrating to the EA App, the first game launch failed with the message: "Game not installed. Go to your library to double-check that The Sims™ 4 Digital Deluxe is installed properly. If the game is already installed, click the 3 dots on the game tile to manage and repair files." After repairing, the game ran in Czech instead of English.

I deleted the game, cleared the EA App cache, and reinstalled The Sims 4, choosing English as the language. However, after installation, the game launch failed again with the same message. And after repairing, it ran in Czech once more. Reinstalling the EA App didn't resolve the issue either.

I've also reported this issue via EA Error Reporter, ID: b16dbcf0-8cf5-4c2c-a8b8-4e3416cdaf3e

@EA_Leeuw I'm at a loss for what to do next and would appreciate any help or suggestions to fix this problem.

  • My game is finally working in the correct language I installed it in!

    Here's the process I followed:

    1. I started a chat with an EA support representative. It took about 5 minutes to connect with someone, plus a few more minutes to resolve the issue.
    2. The representative made some changes on my account.
    3. After the changes, they asked me to restart the EA app. When that didn't work, they suggested logging out and logging back into my account.
    4. After logging back in, the game worked in the correct language. I also reinstalled the game before logging out and logging back in.

I hope that works for you all!
