As suggested by a few others in this thread, I reached out to EA support and requested that they remove the game from my account and add it back. After walking through this with two separate support reps, I am still receiving the same "Game license is invalid" error. I reluctantly went back through all the boilerplate troubleshooting; clear cache, move the license folder, clean boot, disable firewalls, etc. and still no luck.
At the end of the conversation with my final support representative for the night, I was told this:
Thank you! I will be forwarding account details to the concerned team so that they can check the issue and we expect this process to be completed soon. Sounds good? I am sure that it won't take long since it is effecting players to enjoy the game so resolving this issue is the top most priority of the EA team for now. Expect it to be fixed really soon. I assure you that you will not have to wait longer, we have our best resources fixing it real time.
Unless EA randomly had a change of heart after 2 years of the same issue, I think it's best to assume that no one higher up is actually working on this. More than likely just a last ditch effort to get off the line. I'll at least be a little optimistic and give them a few days before pressing the case again.
