Me and the wife can not thank you enough AnnaBelle87. That worked!
I unlinked my Xbox account, restarted the EA app and The Sims 4 launched right up.
You're welcome, I'm glad I could help! Don't relink it! you'll have to wait 6 months before you can unlink it again. just like the issue I am currently in. They should just fix this though because it's pointless that they don't work together so you can play and get the discount.
