I'm currently dealing with this issue and so far the only help I have gotten from EA is pretty much, tough break. It's like they have no idea how to handle a license issue. To have put so much time and money into a game all for it to be unplayable because of a license EA has no idea how to fix is just sad.
So what I ended up doing was deleting everything Sims 4 and the EA App. I decided to try downloading it on Steam and it works! It will download the EA app again to download any packs you have and connect steam to you EA account, but it will run through steam. Run the steam version before you try connecting or downloading EA!! There is a reddit post somewhere that explains it pretty thoroughly if you want more of a walk through!
