When I try to run The Sims 4 game, I keep getting this message. "The app couldn't read the game's license file, so If the problem continues, try clearing your cache."
I have been having this problem since the last EA App update. I can run other games with the app. It seems only The Sims 4 is affected.
I have cleared the cache several times as suggested. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the EA App, as well as launching the EAUpdater.exe. I did the repair game option a couple of times. I have disabled my anti-virus and VPN. I have tried to find any solutions on the forum, but I have only seen other players posting about having the same problem, but not getting any answers or help.
I have been playing The Sims since The Sims 1 was released. I was even a beta tester of Sims Online. I have spent so much time and money on this game and I feel like I'm just being left out in the cold. EA just wants my money, but can't be bothered to help when they break the game.
This is insane from EA not going to lie. All I want to do is run the game offline with mods, and yet I can't even after reinstalling the game, clearing my cache, and verifying game files through steam. I would literally be able to run the game fine if I didn't have to go through EA and instead could just run it with steam. Absolutely horrible from them. Mind you I can run the game fine online with no mods which should show that my game license if fine. However, after switching the client to offline it gives me the same error 205 that my game license has expired. The most horrible game and client experience I have ever seen.

I understand how you feel, but that isn't going to happen. It's an EA game, not Steam. Simply you bought the game via Steam. Steam itself cannot add any extra game file fuctionality than the EA app does, as its on the EA app.
Best, to buy on the launcher that owns the game. Two launchers one game. The amount of problems I seen this cause by reading posts, and once myself over two years ago is a lot.
I stopped that practice, so EA games, purchased through EA app only. No extra launcher involved. Since doing that over two years ago I have had not one problem, and can easily "repair," which is the same as Steams "verify," every game.
Worth considering in future.
