sims 4 updates requires 19 GB disk space

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I clicked to update the sims 4.
What happens when the bug occurs? It comes up with an error saying ‘low disk space’, when I do have enough disk space on both my desktop storage and usb storage. I have signed out of EA multiple times and retried to find the same issue. I have found the amount it says I have available changes drastically. One time it says I have ‘178.46MB’ or ‘20.85MB’ left and another time it says I only have a few KB when I actually have multiple GB of storage. I have already cleared cache.
What do you expect to see? My game to update properly in order for me to play the game.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
