In that case @JohnCordent I would recommend using Origin for the time being.
As the EA App is still in beta you may see issues like this pop up from time to time.

I also purchased the Collector's Edition of the game upon release and it has always been marked as such in Origin. Now that I have been forced over to the EA App it is simply listed as The Sims 4. I appear to have all of the relevant content available to me but no longer have the status of owning the Collector's Edition. Can we get this back please?

Exactly what was to be expected happened. The EA app can't do anything with the Collectors Edition and you no longer own the game (only the free basic version). This does not give you access to the content of the deluxe version. Deluxe =|= Collectors Edition, the retail version containing the physical Plumbot, soundtrack and other stuff sold at release.
Edit: I checked everything ingame. The Collector's Edition was broken up into individual packages and transferred in full. I couldn't find a pack for the animal hats. But these appear ingame. I can't find the download for the soundtrack. But it can be due to the fact that I already have it on my hard drive.

Hello,
I am not sure if I missed anything after all this time, but since the new EA app, my Sims 4 version appears as "Standard" and I also own the Collector's Edition. Is there a fix?
