I bought Get to Work, Toddler Stuff, and Outdoor Retreat. Everytime I try to download them I get this error (pictured below). I bought other stuff packs after trying to download them and they have worked. It is just these three. I have cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled EA and the game, restarted the app, restarted my laptop, probably more stuff I don’t even remember. i tried contacting EA Support twice, they are useless. Neither case got resolved and I’m currently trying to contact them again. I paid for those extra content packs and can’t even play with them. Also it’s not a space issue on my MAC, I’ve already checked.

How much space is available on your Mac?
Just clearing the cache using the recovery tool isn't always enough, do a complete clean up of all EA App files and folders, trash the app and re-download and install it - https://bluebellflora.com/2024/04/04/ea-app-recovery-for-mac-reset-ea-app-by-clearing-cache-and-other-files-manually/

Where did you purchase the affected packs from? Was it through Origin/EA App or was it Epic or Steam or somewhere else?
Still waiting on you confirming how much space you have on your Mac.

I have not played the Sims in a couple of years and now have a newer Mac, I was able to download the EA app without issue, as well as log in to my account and view my game and expansion pack. However, when I attempt to download the game, it pauses the download after a few seconds and says "Download Error." I have already cleared the cache, and no change. Has anybody experienced something like this before? I am wondering if it is because I haven't accessed the game in a few years, if it is because I am now living in a different country with my only wifi access being a hotspot, or if it is because I changed laptops. I am very technologically illiterate, if somebody has a potential resolution for me that would be much appreciated!

When I try to download the new update it gets to 30% and then says "download error", it gives me the same error message when I cancel the update and attempt to repair the game. It makes it to 30% before saying "download error". I've cleared my cache more than once and restarted the app and my entire mac and nothing is working. Anyone have the same issue and/or know how to fix it? Thx

hello all as of the beginning of November ive been having a problem with downloading an update for the sims 4 I want to start by saying I'm on the m1 MacBook Pro if that means anything lol so the update would start and then stop after about 10 seconds giving me the error message below ive tried updating my computer software clearing the ea app cache repairing the game [this had the same effect as just trying to download the update] at the request of ea support I deleted and redownloaded the ea app twice which did nothing then also at their request I deleted the game and now I'm stuck not being able to download it as it does the exact same thing as the update and repairing the game neither of which will download ea also marked our last chat as having no fix for my issue and ended our chat so here I am on my last straw lol can anyone help?

I keep getting the "There's a problem with your download" error when I try to download the new Jan 14th update. I restarted my computer, cleared my EA app cache multiple times, took my mods out of my mods folder, reinstalled the EA app, and nothing has worked. I came here to see if anyone had found any solutions already but all I see is a lot of people running into the same issues years ago on different devices. I am on a Macbook Pro 2023 with the M3 Pro chip.

Having exactly the same error with my 2020 M1 mac mini. It doesn't even get past the preparing stage. Reinstalled EA and sims etc nothing worked. Did you ever find a solution?

Try clearing the EA App and see if that helps

I had issues with trying to update my Sims 4 game and feel as though I've tried everything the advisors suggested. I ended up uninstalling my game to try and install it again, but it won't download. It just keeps saying that there is a download error and the download keeps pausing. I can't access my game at all, does anyone have any suggestions??

I was playing earlier with updated mods only, and game was fine. I logged out of the game for a few minutes to restart my computer and when I tried to log in now I'm getting this error message and my game won't load. I clicked on "repair" and tried to log in again and still - game won't load. Does anyone know why?

I'm not clear on if you're seeing this message after the EA app opens, or if the app itself isn't opening. Here is a link to an EA Help thread that might help you clear the app's cache, which I think may fix your issue: How to clear your cache to fix your game download or upload
Note there are two suggestions, one for clearing cache if the app is opening and the second method if it is not. This is contingent for you being on a windows PC. If you're on a MAC, I don't know anything about them and suggest you look in the Mac Technical Issues forum to see if there is guidance available.

I'll go through it - thanks. The EA app opens, but when I try to launch the SIMS4 game it gives me that error message.

I tried downloading the game from the app worked for a second then said that something is wrong and that i should try after some time and when i tried again it still didn't work.
I also tried purchasing it from the website but when i clicked purchase it's like i didn't click it at all so that also didn't work.
I literally only bought my PC for this game it makes me mad thinking it wont work.

Guys please help me. I got a new laptop (probook hp) and im on windows 11 and i wanted to download and start a new sims 4 game here (i used to play on my old pc) so i downloaded the ea app and all and came to finally download sims from the app and its not letting me. i press the download button and it says "Theres a problem with your download. Something went wrong during your download. Give us a few minutes then try again." its literally been like an hour. The other games on the app can be downloaded normally. Only the sims 4 seems to be acting up. What do I do?? I already cleared cache and tried to run app as administrator (Im not sure if I did these right) and it doesnt work. Help me pls!!

I've been trying to download The Sims 4 on my PC for a week now but a window keeps popping up saying "something went wrong with the download" and saying that I should try again in a few minutes? i tried reinstalling the EA app and it's still the same problem... i have plenty of free space so it isn't a space problem and i've tried downloading other games from the app and i can download them just fine so it's only a the sims 4 problem
