I have the same problem. Just purchased Xbox access for a PC. Trying to launch a game and black screen then nothing happens. What a crap.
Hi @NewCrysisNew,
Receiving a black screen after which the game crashes instantly could indicate that the PC isn't powerful enough the launch the game.
I want to double check to make sure that everything is okay. Please let me know which game you are trying to launch and attach your DxDiag to your post on the forums.

Hi @EA_Jason ,
Thank you for a response. The game is Crysis and I do not think this is my rig that is too weak. It is new Lenovo Legion with RTX 3060. Also Crysis Remastered launched once I installed it to test. Therefore, this is a bit weired. Crysis - first edition is having this problem.

The specs look decent enough @NewCrysisNew, but there are some error codes and there is some troubleshooting that we can do.
- The first thing that you can do is update your Nvidia drivers via the Nvidia website.
- Also make sure that you are launching the game with the graphics card and not the onboard chipset via the Nvidia Control Panel.
- Try installing/repairing DirectX via the Microsoft webpage.
- Perform a Clean Boot of Windows and only start the EA app and Crysis.

I updated Nvidia drivers and set GPU as described. Cannot reinstall DX as I am on Win11 and what I downloaded from the MS website is older than what I have in the system. Could find articles about reinstalling DX in Win 11 as of now. Crysis still did not launch though.

Do you know if the game is using your 3070 card when it's launching? That can be seen under the NVIDIA Control Panel or if you set it to run it off that through GeForce Experience. - 4 years ago
Hey guys,
I think I found a solution!!! And it is much simpler then any solution suggested before!
So basically, when trying to open the game from EA Desktop, for some reason it tries to launch the 32bit version of the game.
So what to do about it?
Just go to this location: "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Crysis\Bin64" and launch the 64bit version of the game(Replace the 'Crysis' with the name of the game you want to play).
That's it!
Hope it helps..
