Let's try the following steps to get this error cleared up for you:
- Clear the cache for the EA app
- Run the EA app as an administrator
- Uninstall and reinstall the EA app
- Run a repair on The Sims 4
- Check for any background applications blocking the update
- Run a clean boot on your PC and try installing the update in a clean boot state

I tried everything you said, except the clean booth for my PC because it gives me a russian site and I don't speak russian so I have no clue what to do and if I even know how to do it.
But nothing worked ☹️, even repairing the game gave me the same error that something went wrong...
