User ID change not working

I'm trying to change my user ID from MorganLily96 to "mooglily" so it can be like the rest of my gamer tags, but I keep getting an error message that the username uses prohibited words or characters. Can someone please help me fix this? What's even more confusing is "mooglily1" works - so clearly there aren't any prohibited characters in the original requested ID change. 

I can see that this issue dates back in the forums at least 10 years ago & I'm not sure if there's been a fix or a way to get in contact with someone to have the change approved. I've been looking for an email or contact form to no avail.

    For assistance in making account changes, please contact EA Help Support. 

    How to chat with EA Help

    1. Log in to your EA Account.
    2. Select the topic that best describes your issue. If an advisor can help, a contact option will be available under your help topic.

      • first name
      • last name
      • e-mail
