why is it saying application not found when launching the sims?

Every time I hit play on steam it pops a small window saying "application not found" and then after clicking "ok" it says "failed to start the process for this game: the operation was canceled by the user. (0x4C7)"

I had the same problem. I fixed it by going to the EA website, trying to download the EA app again (it told me I already had it), I clicked "repair" instead, and now everything works. Hope this helps someone else!
