Same here, wtf is going on?
Me too. Ive not played the Sims 4 in a while and Ive just done a new install of Windows 10. I wanted to make sure it still worked and I also have the Sims 4 on Steam, yet it forces me to still use Origin and now the EA app. When I try to launch the game I get Origin forcing me to install the EA app. So I do that and log in and then I get the "You Don't have access, blah, blah, blah" message.
Its suggesting that I might be trying to play someone else's copy of the game. Guilty until proven innocent! WTF??? I
Edit: Ok, I managed to fix it by updating the game via Steam, which I REALLY did NOT want to do. Good thing I had a backup of my Sims 4 current version as well as the documents folder. I was able to switch it back without steam and the EA app noticing.
Edit 2: Nope its broken again. Now when I open the EA app and Steam and I try to launch the Sims 4, the EA app tries to open again, even though its already open and then Steam pops up and says "Please exit any running games or tools before attempting to verify your local files".
I really resent this type of enforcement. Being forced to use a platform online and being forced to update my games, when I don't want to. I don't want the Sims 4's latest content. It stinks! When I spend a lot money on game, I should be able to play whenever and however I like. No one should have to put up with this crap.
