Apex Legends Account Link

I have just downloaded apex legends on my PS5, and I’m trying to get my progress transferred from my Xbox account. When I log in to the EA website it says my Xbox account is linked, but when I go to link my PlayStation account to it, it says that that account im trying to link is already linked to that exact same ea account I’m trying to link it to. So why won’t it let me login? When I go to the login for EA again and click sign in with PlayStation account this time, I login with my PS account and it logs in to the EA account I was literally just on. Even when it’s saying to me that my PS account is already linked to an EA account, it is showing me the email for the EA account I’m trying to link to???? I’m baffled pls help
