Can’t create a child account

Question

I’m trying to create a child account, following help article to enter their date of birth and country to start. I click submit and get a message saying they don’t meet the criteria. I thought it should prompt to enter an adult email address and verify but I can’t get this far.

I’m in the Uk and my child is 9. I have tried doing this in the EA app and also on the browser. Any idea why it’s blocking it?

I’m having exactly the same issue. Following the instructions to the letter but not having any joy.

I eventually got around it. Apparently you can’t create the account using a mobile device. I had to fire up my old, creaking, coal fired laptop and follow the process on there.

It worked without issue.

For instructions on how to create a child account, please take a look at this guide. In case you're getting an error message during the account creation, please try using a PC instead of a mobile device, as suggested by AngryViper1045​.
