Charterer or toon in game freezes up since last update in Sims 4.

The charterer in-game takes out the trash and just stays there and doesn't move an inch. I tell it to use the toilet but still stays in place doesn't move at all. I have to save it and restart it over and over again so many times through the game play. It is now unplayable. Charterer is always stuck in-game all the time now. Please I hope there is a fix for this?
