Hacker linked wrong EA account to my Steam – can't unlink, support stuck
I'm in a really frustrating situation and hoping someone here can offer some advice.
Here's what happened:
Recently, my email was compromised. Since both my Steam account and EA account were tied to that email, the hacker gained access to both. During the breach, they linked my Steam account to a completely different EA account that does not belong to me.
The good news is that after a lot of effort, I have successfully recovered all three — my email, my Steam account, and my original EA account. I can now log into everything normally.
However, here's the real problem:
Even though I have full control of all my accounts, the wrong EA account that the hacker linked to my Steam is still there. I've tried every standard method to unlink it (like going into Steam settings and removing the connection), but the system simply won't let me disconnect it.
To make things worse, when I try to contact EA support via live chat to resolve this, I get a message saying: "Live chat does not support this issue." This means I can't even reach a human agent to explain my situation.
So now I'm stuck with someone else's EA account permanently attached to my Steam profile, and I have no way to contact support about it. I'm worried this might cause issues down the line with account security or game ownership.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there any alternative way to contact EA or Steam support for this kind of problem? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
