Permanent Ban for "Observed Gameplay Enhancement" – Requesting Advice

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can offer some advice or share a similar experience.

Yesterday I received an email from EA stating that my Battlefield 6 account had been permanently banned for "observed gameplay enhancement." This came as a complete shock because I've never knowingly used cheats, hacks, or any gameplay-enhancing software.

After looking into my account security, I found several successful Steam logins from locations I don't recognize that occurred a few days/weeks before the ban. I also discovered that Steam Guard had been disabled without my knowledge. Because of this, I'm concerned that my account may have been accessed by someone else before the ban was issued.

I've already submitted an appeal and explained what I found, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar. If your account was compromised, how did EA handle your appeal? Were you able to provide any evidence that helped?

I'm not trying to argue with the rules—I just want my case to be reviewed fairly, as I genuinely don't believe I violated the game's policies myself.

Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Sleeepysleeper

Thanks for the update, and I’m glad to hear you’ve already secured your Steam account, EA account, and email account.

I can understand why the lack of any suspicious login notifications would make this even more unsettling. At this point, since you’ve already submitted an appeal, the next step will be to wait for the Terms of Service team to review the case and get back to you.

Thanks again for taking the time to follow up, and I hope the review brings you a fair outcome.

    Hi EA_Salmon,

Thanks for your reply and for the advice.

I've now secured my Steam account, EA account, and email account by changing all of my passwords and enabling two-factor authentication on each of them.

One thing I found concerning is that I never received any notifications about suspicious logins or changes to my Steam account, so I had no indication that my account may have been compromised until I discovered the ban.

I've already submitted an appeal, so I'll wait to hear back from the Terms of Service team. Hopefully, their investigation will show that the activity on my account wasn't me.

    Fingers crossed!

Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

    Hi Sleeepysleeper,

Sorry to hear you’re dealing with that.

Unfortunately, bans and appeals can’t be reviewed or handled here on the forums. Since you’ve already submitted an appeal, the next step would be to wait for the case to be reviewed and for our support team to get back to you.

I’d also strongly recommend making sure your Steam account, EA account, and email account are all fully secured now, if you haven’t already.

Sorry again you’re in this situation.
