This post describes my situation (and probably yours, too):

The Sims 4 launch issue after the latest update | EA Forums - 5039921

    EDIT:

I first received a Window Security message concerning TS4_Launcher_x64.exe. It seems the executable was quarantined by the operating system, but I did not restore it.

Trying again, I was told that a repair was needed, so I went through the Sims 4 repair procedure. This did not solve the problem.

Trying again, I got a message about "a problem on our end ... please try again later."

Now, I'm back to getting the "repair needed" message, and the repair procedure doesn't fix the problem.

So, I guess we'll just have to wait for EA to resolve the problem and tell us how to proceed. (It could entail a game or an app update, or they might modify the repair procedure so that it actually works.

It tells me I have corrupted files and that a repair should fix the issue, I try to repair and it does nothing and gives me the same pop up.

I thought it was a mod corruption and went through them, found nothing, so I got rid of all my mods and it still gave the pop up I have corrupted files. I have even completely uninstalled both the EA and the Sims 4 launcher and it still gives the same response, extremely frustrating.

    Hey Blanchland1165 and GaliKata

Just to confirm, are either of you seeing a message from Windows Security flagging TS4_Launcher_x64.exe also pop up following the 'Failed to Launch' error? If so, that's an issue we're currently investigating, and if not, let us know as well. Thanks!

I do not get Windows Security flagging TS4_Launcher_x64.exe but I get 'failed to launch error' and am told a simple repair should fix the issue

CuteEmmy_Plays01 Thanks for the update! It sounds like what you're seeing might also be related to that Windows Security flag. I'll merge this conversation with the main thread for this issue in the meantime, as that's where we'll be updating folks.

I didn't get a notification either but when I went into my protection history, it's flagging as a trojan

This is happing on most of the computers I have worked on as of 5pm est 7-21-26 as of 5pm 7-22 I have had 23 windows 11 and 5 windows 10 computers and laptops. windows defender is catching this in the background and quarantining it my customers have bypassed defender by turning off smart app or putting the ts4.exe files in the control access bypass. this has caused their computers to allow Trojan:Script/phonzy.A!ml to run. which is attached to the exe file. DO NOT BYPASS any windows Security protocols just because you want to play the sims. I am an avid sims player but right now I'm having to redo customers computers because of a trojan and stupidity for bypassing windows security protocols.

I am updating this as to inform everyone that the .exe file is not causing the problems on the computers it's the customers bypassing windows security. As multiple antivirus detects no trojans attached to the file in question, but by allowing the file through the smart app and control file it allowed other viruses to attach when they tried to load the game again this happened in the background. again, "DO NOT BYPASS WINDOWS SECURITY PROTOCOLS". I keep seeing people say they bypassed smart apps this is going to cause problems in your computers don't do it.  EA is Trustworthy and the file is clean I will update again when I figure out what's allowing the attachments.  It is possible there is a script file imbedded in the .exe causing the problem but will update when I know definitely. or if EA finds it before me LOL.

Maybe stop freaking people out and listen to the people who have had similar issues playing any of these games, they have been using this method for years and know what they are doing.

Just don’t touch shady links and such, and you’ll be fine kids. If you’re worried about it, it’s ok to wait for the update, we won’t judge.

The majority of this community won’t judge you regardless of if you bypass it or wait.
