Support agent deleted my account and then closed the ticket to cover it up
I started a support ticket about a missing item in Apex Legends. After the usual verification questions things went sideways fast. The agent told me my account was deleted out of nowhere, then immediately tried to close the chat. He then sent a link about disputing a ban which had nothing to do with my issue, and when I asked if it was meant for me, he just responded with "sure." At that point I asked to speak with a supervisor, which he completely ignored and instead told me to reset my password and restart my PC. When I said that had nothing to do with my missing content, he just told me to do it anyway. I played along and said I would, and within 3 minutes he closed the ticket on me while I was supposedly doing what he asked.
Ten minutes later I went to log into Apex and my account was gone. He had actually submitted a deletion request on my account. The only reason I got it back is because EA's recovery process is a simple password reset, which honestly probably says a lot about how often this kind of thing happens.
This agent lied to me, ignored my supervisor request, closed my ticket to cover himself, and deleted my account without my knowledge or consent. I have screenshots of the entire conversation below and I would really like something done about this. If any higher up sees this, please let me know and I can DM you the ticket number.
Hey Ibbyalzz,
Sorry to hear you had a confusing experience with live support. Having your account deleted without your request or consent is definitely not what should have happened in this case. While what you experienced wasn't ideal, I'm glad to hear that you were able to get your Apex account back relatively painlessly!
I'm afraid the forums aren't actually the right channel to address this, so please open a new case with live support instead. The next advisor will take note of your feedback and pass it along accordingly. Feel free to include the case number and screenshots when you do so.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
