Trying and failing to request a refund, repeatedly.

I'm trying to refund Battlefield 6 on the EA App. I bought it less than 14 days ago and have only just played it for the first time today, so  I meet the criteria for a refund but the game doesn't show in the refund tool. I have also tried in Account History, no refund option either. I have tried the contact us at the bottom of the refund page, tried specifically saying the refund tool is not working and it just sends me to the link for the refund tool anyway. An AI agent tried repeatedly and failed to connect me to a real agent over and over again. The problem here is the 24 hour timer is ticking, the cynical would think its a ploy to keep you hanging until that 24 hours is up and then tough luck. Tried the webform also, just sends you to the refund tool. Everything just loops back to the refund tool no matter what you say to the AI or webforms.

I noticed somebody else having a similar issue and posted in there, but thought I best make my own too as not to divert attention away from them.

Been trying well over an hour, maybe two just stuck in endless loops on these support bots that go nowhere.

How to email or get in a chat window with an actual human?

  • Hey OldGuyIan,

Sorry to hear that there's been difficulty getting in touch with live support.

Can you try using this web form again, but selecting a different topic as your issue? "Login Issues" usually brings you to a self-service page, and from there you should see a button to chat with an advisor near the bottom of the page.

Once you connect with an advisor, you can let them know that you're hoping for a refund, and they can review your eligibility. Thanks!

That has got me to an agent window with an actual person who is helping me, thank you very much for the suggestion.

Unfortunately, they are saying that I'm not entitled to a refund after launching the game, even though the refund policy clearly states you have 24 hours to refund after launching, its like bashing your head against a wall. I have 34 minutes played and can't get a refund. I can only think maybe I launched it briefly when I installed it but didn't play, I don't think so but who knows, i did install it a week ago before playing, so perhaps that counts somehow. Either way, out of luck, and a disappointing end result but at least I got it on sale. Oh well, I suppose the moral of the story is buy games only on Steam from now on, lesson learned.

OldGuyIan Appreciate the update, though I'm sorry to hear that you weren't able to get that refund.
