I can't recover the old account. The email it is linked to has since been deleted, the phone number it has is no longer mine. The debit card information attached to it is one I haven't used in at least 5 to 6 years. I abandoned it because I served a mission for the LDS Church and didn't think to delete it to prevent these kinds of problems. Unfortunately, it is still linked to my xbox account. So I can't link my new EA account (the one I am using roght now) to my xbox account.

I'm running into the exact same issue right now. Was completely unaware until I tried to get early access to the BF6 Beta. Spent half an hour watching some clown to get the code only to find out my EA account is attached to my email address from college ten years ago that has long since been deactivated by the university. EA is such a joke man

My question is this. How can EA claim this is an issue of security when they are letting an account I have no control over be linked to my name and my Xbox account? How is that secure? In the UK there are right to be forgotten laws, why can't this dead EA account be deleted? It makes no sense. I can very easily prove to you that I own and controll the Xbox account. But I'm to believe that allowing the dead account to maintain the connection is safe and secure?
