Cannot access the game (Split Fiction - Steam)

I pre-purchased and pre-loaded the game, but when it officially launched, Steam prompted me to download an additional 10GB update. After installing the update, the game still failed to launch. Upon restarting Steam, it showed another 13GB download requirement. Even after completing this download, I remained unable to access the game. I then uninstalled and redownloaded the entire game, yet the issue persisted. For reference, I'm using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, and all other Steam games on my system launch normally. Could you please provide some potential solutions to resolve this issue?

Btw, after clicking the green launch button in Steam, the button briefly shows "Launching" before reverting to green within seconds. The game never actually opens, and no error messages ever appear during this process. 😫

Steam indicates I was in-game for a few seconds, but no game visuals ever appeared

  • Thank you for your response. I think I managed to resolve the issue on my own - it might have been related to my CPU. After adjusting BIOS settings to underclock and undervolt the processor, the game finally runs properly now. If anyone with the same problem stumbles upon this post, I hope my approach can help.

0qbig2wbiatj Following up on this one. After the reinstall and update of the game, when you launch the game, do you see it in the task manager? Sometimes windows pops up the "are you sure" box to make sure you want to run the program as a security feature

I'm experiencing the same issue. My graphics card is an RTX 4060, and I'm running Windows 11. Previously, all games on Steam worked fine. When I try to launch Split Fiction, the process appears in Task Manager for less than a second, barely using any system resources, and then it closes. But I don't know how to adjust advanced BIOS settings.

    感谢大佬提供思路!我已经通过调整BIOS设置解决了问题:打开了AVX support。垃圾游戏,自己的兼容性问题要玩家自己花这么多时间处理这么久!!!

This is for Game Developer:I've resolved the issue by adjusting the BIOS settings: I enabled AVX support. What a terrible game! It's ridiculous that players have to spend so much time dealing with its compatibility issues!!!

0qbig2wbiatj Great to hear you were able to get that resolved. When it comes to Bios, that is one area we can't tell players to change, as that could damage the PC. Glad you were able to get it up and running!

thirdsize Hey then my suggestion is trying to reset the BIOS setting totally. All we know so far is that the bug is related to BIOS Settings so resetting is worth trying
