I bought the game for a friend of mine after putting roughly 20 hours into the game myself. I had made it all the way up too the first mission where you are actually tasked with killing the crow kimono. I joined my friends world and did the first mission with them. Fighting the Rat, Sapscourge, and the Boar. We finished killing the boar, and right before she was tasked with shooting a vine over to Minoto they saved and quit with me still in the session. Once I was kicked out and loaded back into my own session in my own world. My save state progress was saved over with there's. I am now back in chapter one, on the Salty spray mission. The game still i have 17 hours in it, all of my buildings are on the island, I have all my weapons and armor. But my story progress has been fully reset to the beginning of the game. I have no idea what to do. I tried restarted, reloading the save. But it does matter because I now have the same save state as my friend who I just gifted the game.
