I've been timed out of Hazelight discord 72H for saying this

I love Split Fiction and everything Hazelight Studios creates, but I despise EA and their practices. I already brought this up in chat, but since nothing has been done and the issue isn’t being taken seriously, people need to be aware and take action.

To be clear, this is on EA, not Hazelight, as they are the ones collecting this data. And let’s not forget EA’s shady history with Origin in 2016 and 2019, where similar issues around user data and privacy were exposed.

What’s happening:
On first launch, a pop-up asks whether you allow data collection.
If you select "No", the option is still enabled in the game settings.
You have to manually disable it afterward.

Why this is a problem:
This violates data protection laws, including GDPR for EU users.
Users who trust the initial prompt may unknowingly have their data collected.
It raises serious concerns about EA’s transparency and respect for user privacy (hard to say that with a straight face).

What can be done:
Spread awareness about this issue.
Check your settings and disable data collection manually (Options > Game > Usage Sharing).
Demand an official response from EA and push for a fix.

If nothing changes:
Report the issue to data protection authorities (GDPR complaints can be filed through national agencies).
This needs to be addressed immediately. User choices should be respected, and companies must be held accountable.

For now, I’m only posting this here to give them the benefit of the doubt that it’s just a "bug" though I seriously doubt it. If this gets deleted or censored, I’ll make sure to spread it more publicly.
