USB controller not recognized

I have an old generic usb controller which works on all my games except this one.

Does someone know a workaround to still use generic usb controllers in the game?

If not, is there a list of compatible controllers?

Thanks for the quick reply David.

It a pretty old PlayStation 2 style controller called "Speedlink Strike Gamepad".

I figured it out for my situation and it's working like a charm now.

    For everyone else having trouble:

    1. Download "x360ce.exe" (32 or 64 bit depending on the game).

    2. Install it in the game folder.

    3. Run as admin and let it install missing dll's.

    4. Configure layout for controller remapping and save it.

It still didn't recognize the controller ingame, but depending on the game you might need to rename the created xinput dll to either:

    xinput1_1.dll

    xinput1_2.dll

    xinput1_3.dll

    xinput1_4.dll

    xinput9_1_0.dll

Hope this helps anyone else get their old stuff working again.

@MaxBEEF Hey, does the pad have an "xinput" mode, so that it can be seen as an Xbox controller? If not, you may want to see if there's software available that will make your computer see the pad as an Xbox one?

I'm curious which pad it is, perhaps we can point you in a more specific direction.
