I'm in the same boat. My partner and I both bought copies of the game - have our own Xbox One consoles (if it matters, I have an XO X and she has the OG XO). We've done all the suggested troubleshooting - still nothing. We've wasted a good couple of hours just waiting to see if it would timeout or give us a reason as to why, but nothing. I just don't get it. It can't be that hard to play with another person that owns the game.
Would really appreciate some official response or eta on an update/fix
