Your Game Failed to Launch Update

Hey Wild Hearts Fans.

I noticed looking around that a lot of people pre-ordered the game as well as got the Ea Play sub and that has caused issues. I also see that some are still using the Origin app and not the EA Play app. This is what seemed to work for me, so this is what I suggest.

If you have both the sub and pre-order, uninstall the game.
Delete the Origin app, and clear the Origin cache.
Install the EA App, client, first.
Log into the EA App so it syncs up

Then go back into Steam, search for the game in the store, and if it allows, download the trial, if not the full game, and try to launch it.

Try removing the Steam game from the library and then cleaning EA App Cache. ea app for some reason won't see you own the game, and allow you to run the trial. After that, if you restore the game in the Steam app, it should resolve it for you.

Steps for the above

  1. On your Steam Menu, top left > go to Help > Steam Support > Wild Hearts > I want to perma remove this game from my account > Standard edition > Ok
  2. Remove the listed game perma (you can restore after)
  3. Go to the EA App > 3 lines top left corner > Help > App Recovery > clear cache > reboot the app
  4. Launch the game on Steam and it should boot up. You will need to keep the game disabled in order to play via EA Play only up to the Minato Gate.

If you restore the game and close the EA App, It will error again. unfortunately, you cannot go past the Minato gate until it's resolved.

To restore, go to Help - Wild Hearts - I don't see my game in my library - restore.

  • Even if that would've worked, I've got 20hours downloading the game due to my connection, so I'll juste have to wait and see what can they do for those like me who paid the EA play sub just to play the game but can't.

@elrezarioze Yeah, i get it. Having to wait that long for a download isn't fun at all. That is something sadly those steps won't be able to fix.

  • @hamburgerprime Thanks! This worked! :D Just wanted to try the trial to see if the game would run decent on my PC and it does; so now I can wait the 2 days for the proper release! :D
  • These steps worked for me, thanks! Following these steps allowed me to play the trial only, despite having purchased the game (this makes since as the game is, at this point, not in my account anymore), however I found a solution that allows full access (within the 10 hour limit), as intended. If you follow all these steps exactly and then, before launching the game, you restore the standard/karakuri edition to your account, the game should work with full access to Minato. So, the steps would be:

    1. "Permanently" remove game from Steam library.

    2. Clear EA App cache.

    3. Force close EA App and EA App background via task manager.

    4. Restore game to Steam library through the same support window used to remove it.

    5. Launch game through Steam.

This is needed every time you launch the game, but that's not much of an issue considering the game releases in about 12 hours at this point anyway.

Hi, the base cause of this issue should be addressed now. Thanks for providing the workaround in the meantime.
