Alice Madess Returns Complete Collection Key binding and Saving issues

Hello! 

I bought the Alice Collection with the original Alice game from 2000 off of Humble Bundle. The game starts up and plays but I noticed after all the cut scenes my controls became unbound from my keyboard, I couldn't even bring up my pause menu. After spending a few minutes button spamming all of my keys to get the menu up, I was finally able to rebind the keys to my default settings. But, as I progressed in the game, some of the keys wouldn't work again, even if I went in and rebound them. I also noticed that as Alice was transported from London to Wonderland, the game would erase the binds. So I would have to button spam, again, to find the pause button and rebind the keys to default. I'm worried that this issue will continue as I progress from Chapter to Chapter...

After an hour of fussing with it in game, I thought I might be able to troubleshoot from the main menu, but when I got back to the title screen, there wasn't a "Load Game" option and my progress from the game I just started was not there. (Mind you, the original game from the 360 autosaves and there is not an option to save manually. In the American Megee version you can save manually but that option isn't available for the second game). I spent the past 11 hours reading posts from 2015 and 2017 about this same issue. I know there was talk about needing to create a file location for the CheckPoint and Config files...But when I tried these, the issue was still there. 

My next thought is that, because at the time of the game's release to PC it was just the Alice Madness Return game, without the added first game or the collections, meaning the file names were different?? 

For example, all the forums said to add this location: 

(My name)/Documents/My Games/ Alice Madness Returns/AliceGame/CheckPoint

(My name)/Documents/My Games/Alice Madness Returns/AliceGame/Config

But mine looks like this

D:/Documents/My Games/Alice Madness Returns Complete Collection/Game/Alice2/AliceGame/CheckPoint

D:/Documents/My Games/Alice Madness Returns Complete Collection/Game/Alice2/AliceGame/Config

I added the two folders but they still didn't work. 

I even looked at my Anti Virus protection and gave Origin exceptions to see if that would help...

I have run out of ideas to fix this and I am unsure of what to do next. 

I have contacted EA directly to see if they would be able to assist but I didn't get clear answers... I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out! Sorry I wrote a book!
