Charged for EA Play despite Game Pass Ultimate Subscription

Hello,

I have just been charged 19.99 for an EA Play subscription despite receiving the service for free via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

When I downloaded Origin/EA Play last year, it identified that there was a duplicate subscription immediately and informed me that no charge would be made and it would be free as part of GPU - yet this is apparently not the case.

I have a EA Play subscription on my PS5 - but this is separate, with that charged separately every October.

How do I go about getting this refunded and properly combined, FOR FREE, with my GPU subscription.

I tried to go on live chat but of course as with most things EA, its broken atm.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    For issues like this you can contact our live support at help.ea.com.  

    To  speak with a chat adviser:

    Click on your product EA app

    Then select 'PC

    Manage my Account'

    Finally, you can choose to begin a chat

  • Bumping this as I have the same issue, should not be getting charged for EA Play due to receiving it through Game Pass Ultimate (which has cause a number of other issues like being unable to play EA Games on PlayStation properly), & yet I was charged for an annual plan. Cancelled immediately, will just be contacting my bank to reverse the charge because this is not acceptable.

  • I had the same problem (the EA app didn't recognize my membership through Game Pass and wanted to charge me), but I just finished with EA support and have it working now.  The solution for me was to uninstall both the Xbox app and the EA app, then reinstall the Xbox app and attempt to install the game.  This prompted me to reinstall the EA app.  After launching the EA app and signing in, I also had to relaunch the Xbox app, but then everything worked and I was able to install the game.

    Sounds like you may have had more than one EA account @gideon823ea and initially been logged into a secondary one.
