EA PLAY ISSUES

Dear EA Support Team,

I am writing to formally request a solution regarding a purchase block and systemic support failures during the recent bundle sale. Due to my active EA Play subscription, I was completely blocked from purchasing the "Get to Work" expansion pack.

I was never informed upon subscribing to EA Play that it would restrict me from purchasing individual or bundled packs. If the system had functioned correctly, I could have purchased the "Get to Work" pack for 11,000 KRW (approx. $8-9 USD). This final price was calculated by combining the 75% bundle sale discount, the 10% EA Play subscriber discount, and an additional promotional code discount.

To resolve this during the sale period, I repeatedly attempted to contact EA Support via email and Live Chat. However, all my contact history and case logs were continuously deleted and wiped from my account. I even reached out via the EA Answers HQ Forums, but received no resolution before the sale ended.

Upon researching this issue, I discovered that I am far from alone; numerous other users are currently experiencing the exact same technical glitch where EA Support connections fail and case history disappears. This proves that the inability to receive timely support was entirely due to a critical error within EA’s own customer service platform.

My purchase history clearly shows that I bought other items during the recent bundle sale with the 75% discount. Because EA's system block and support failures prevented me from completing my full purchase, I strongly request that you allow me to purchase the "Get to Work" pack now at that same promotional discount price.

I look forward to your prompt response and a swift resolution to this matter.

  • Hi Wonka_vV ,

To clarify, EA Play does not generally prevent members from purchasing individual packs or bundles.

The situation with Get to Work is different because that expansion is included with EA Play. While your membership is active, your account has access to the pack through the subscription, which means the store may recognise it as already owned and prevent it from being purchased separately or included in certain bundles.

Please also note that access provided through EA Play is not permanent. If the subscription ends, access to Get to Work ends unless the pack has been purchased separately.

Regarding the price you calculated, the EA Play member discount, sale pricing, bundle discounts, and promotional codes are not automatically stackable. The final eligible price is the price displayed and accepted during checkout.

Unfortunately, we cannot access your account or support case history through the forums, nor can we restore an expired promotion, manually apply a previous sale price, or complete the purchase on your behalf. Missing support cases also do not allow us to verify what occurred with those contacts from the forums.

You can contact EA Help again and ask them to review the previous contacts and purchase issue, but we cannot guarantee that an expired promotional price can be reinstated.

Please do not post any case details, payment information, receipts, or other personal account information publicly.

  • Recently, I contacted customer support regarding an issue where I missed the opportunity to purchase a DLC that I was rightfully trying to buy during a sale event, all due to an EA payment system error. I had already attempted to reach support multiple times during the sale period, but my screen only repeatedly showed a confirmation window stating that an advisor would contact me via email. In reality, I never received any response, email, or access to a live chat screen. Frustrated and searching for a solution, I discovered numerous other players on Reddit and various communities experiencing the exact same struggle. This made me certain that it was not an individual issue on my end, but a system error within EA itself. Since I could not get through to customer support at the time, I eventually raised the issue directly on the official forums. However, the forum team naturally lacked the payment authority to provide a direct solution, and as a result, I was unable to purchase the desired DLC before the sale event concluded.

Even after the sale ended, I kept trying to connect, and for some reason, a live chat window finally opened today. After discussing the matter with an advisor for about an hour, I clearly communicated that there had been a system error, and we successfully managed to get the purchase button to appear normally again. However, since this entire ordeal was undeniably caused by a flaw in EA's system, I rightfully requested to purchase the item at the sale price that should have been available to me at the time. The response I received was that because the promotional period had officially ended, the system had automatically locked the pricing matrix, making it absolutely impossible for the support team to issue discount codes or alter payment prices. I politely asked if this consultation could be escalated to a higher team with the necessary authority, but I was informed that this was also impossible due to procedural guidelines and technical limitations.

The advisor was incredibly kind throughout the hour-long conversation, sincerely understanding and empathizing with my situation as a consumer, and did their absolute best within the confines of the system. I was truly impressed by the advisor’s excellent attitude and am deeply grateful for it. However, despite the advisor’s best efforts, my issue ultimately could not be properly resolved before the chat ended due to the company's rigid and consumer-unfriendly support manuals. It is deeply regrettable that despite having such excellent support staff and a dedicated player base who truly love the games, EA maintains these user-unfriendly customer support guidelines and extremely poor accessibility to live assistance. I sincerely hope these chronic issues are resolved promptly so that EA can become a company truly recognized and trusted by its players.
