ea play
I bought a 12 month ea play subscription via steam and I'm now signing into the ea app via windows and it's not recognising my ea play membership.
I've checked my account and it is linked to my steam account so why does it not recognise my membership? Any ideas how to resolve?

There is unfortunately no way to 'resolve' this as it is working as intended.
When you buy an EA Play membership, it is a dedicated membership for that specific platform or launcher. EA Play memberships are not cross-platform, cross-launcher, or shareable.
The only exception to this is if you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which comes with EA Play for both Xbox and PC EA app.
