[Game Pass] EA Play Asking to Purchase Game Already Owned

I got this problem with Spore Galatic Adventures, the base game works but not for the DLC and this DLC isn't even included in game pass so why is asking me for a gamepass subscription??

I need a fix please.

  • @AronniPepperonni Typically this means that the wrong accounts are linked. This is not always the case but most often is. It could also be a sync issue between the linked accounts.

If you log into EA.com with the right EA account, and under connections you see the right Xbox account, also check the purchase and subscription tabs. You would see that you are linked with Game Pass.

If you do not, you will need to log out of EA.com and log in with your Xbox account to sync the accounts.

Here are some steps to help on the Xbox app side

    • Close the EA app.
    • Navigate to the Xbox app.
    • Go to settings (click your name in the top left corner)
    • Select "extensions."
    • Disable the extension for the EA App
    • Locate the game you want to download on the Xbox app
    • You'll notice that the install selection has now disappeared and been replaced by an option asking you to "enable extension."
    • Enable the EA app extension
    • The Xbox app should then launch the EA app automatically
    • Once you see the EA app open, you should now be allowed to select an SSD/HDD to install the game

  • I subscribed to the xbox game pass yesterday and wanted to play Battlefield 2042. Whenever I open the EA through Xbox or through the app itself, it asks for subscription for EA Play or payment for all games. I have tried unlinking and linking, but still doesnt work. Also tried to uninstall EA App and tried recover, still doesnt work for me. Pls help.

@07islam If it still asks after those steps, we suggest contacting support so that they can look at the accounts. Either accounts are not linked correctly, or there is a desync in the accounts. When a sub asks you to pay, It is not seeing that the correct accounts are linked like a missing entitlement, or the game you are trying to download does not have an active payment linked that enables the sub on it.

  • Same problem here, right account link, already tried log out and log in and even uninstall and re install....
