How Come EA Play is not Cross Platform

Spoiler
How Come EA Play 's Subscriptions are not Cross Platform? The reason why I am asking this is because as a gamer it is a little of a hassle to pay more money for a subscription where the membership seems like it should be universal across like XBOX, PC, Nintendo, or PlayStation. Like I understand having to pay for certain game add-ons and things because the general coding for certain systems is in fact different but as a consumer and from that standpoint it is why other apps that are big name streaming stations are successful because they do meet the consumer in the middle. I mean I am not being a cry baby over it being the way it is per say but it is an annoyance that the game I have on one system that I have access too through EA Play on My XBOX for free through the membership is not adaptable to the PC when its legit the same game unless I come out of pocket an additional $$$ to get the same subscription that I just paid for on the XBOX. Just a food for thought.... hopefully in the future it's not such a hassle and it is compartmentalized into one for all platforms and just paying for the add-ons or special specs even if you allowed the EA Play Pro accounts to be cross platform you would still get a good gross income off it and would probably see the chances of the consumer signing up for the EA Play Pro accounts increase.

Hey @Krissyldm95 our membership is available on each platform for $4.99, or regional equivalent. There is no cross platform subscription at this time. As such if you wish to use EA Play on different platforms then you will need an active membership on each.

  • Well, if you have EA Play through having gamepass then you do have access to EA Play on PC.

However, it doesn't work the other way around and this is I assume due to the other platforms requiring they get their cut for you playing those games on their platform.

What I mean by that is, I assume Sony, Microsoft and Valve require you have purchased the subscription through their platform so they can get their cut.

But like I said, EA does give you access to EA play on PC if you have it through a Gamepass Subscription.  I am not sure if it also works that way if you have it on the other two platforms.

Hey @Grawbad if you have Game Pass PC or Game Pass Ultimate then you will receive access to EA Play on PC. When you get Game Pass Ultimate this includes Game Pass PC which has EA Play included.

When you become a Game Pass PC or Game Pass Ultimate member EA Play is included in the price.

What have you been playing through it lately?

I probably should be taking more advantage of it but right now I am playing my 10 hour trial of Battlefield 2042.

I just built a new PC and I don't think there is a game that touches it graphically in my opinion.

Hoping they add some new maps and fixes because the gunplay is great.  (To much long range in the game IMO.)

But that has me considering getting EA Play Pro tbh.  This way I can play everything for the next year.

I've mainly been playing through Frost Punk again @Grawbad, own in Origin, Steam, Epic I think, PSN and Xbox and still play it through EA Play from time to time again. I find it relaxing and am never afraid to sacrifice a few orphans for the good of the city. If you have not played it it's well worth giving a go.

@EA_Darko I do believe I played that a while back when it dropped on gamepass.  I remember liking it but feeling like I was not very good at it.  Lol

I think you have to be ruthless @Grawbad and not afraid to sacrifice people for the greater good. I realised being a dictator was far more fun than benevolent and opted to ensure that people lived to work and then work some more.
