i have ea play on steam but not on EA app

I have bought EA play on steam but in ea app it writes that i need to join ea play. And I have steam and EA app linked. Would I still get early access on games in steam?

  • Hi @afras00 To confirm the EA Play subscription is platform specific, so the version you have on Steam is not the same as the one on Origin/EA App, or Xbox/Playstation.

You may see some EA Games use a lighter version of Origin to run. Going to a different platform will not take your EA Play subscription with you, you will want to continue using it through the Steam client.

this doesn't make sense, i play exclusively on PC.  im playing madden 26 though EA play purchased through steam BUT madden requires the ea app to be installed and it also requires my steam account inside  of the ea app so that i can install madden. so I'm on the same platform but it still does not see my subscription even though its on the same platform,.....(that it had to validate so i could install and play madden.....lol wtf)so you not see how embarrassingly stupid this is?

Going to go ahead and lock this thread as it is quite old.

  • So we need two subscriptions? One for Steam and one for EA?
    Why isn't EA Play cross-platform?

If this is really the case, I'm canceling my subscription.

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE!!  The fact that I need 2 separate subscriptions (one on Steam and one on the EA app) is ABSOLUTELY idiotic!!  Especially when the library of EA is so limited.  There are some games that EA has that are not available on Steam; which means I would have to pay for 2 separate monthly subscriptions.  I guess this gives me a good reason to stop playing the FEW EA games I do play...it isn't worth it.
