Problem for over a year with EA Play locking a game behind it. (That I Bought.)

I've brought this up in topics before. But this just takes the biscuit on how... annoying this has been. So. I pre-ordered Jedi Survivor with a DISCOUNT, from EA Play. Not adding the game from the Library of EA Play, I bought the game. Around a month or two later, the EA Play membership ended. Since then, the game had refused to play. I uninstalled, tried to reinstall, it refused. Posted on here, got responses that weren't helpful (Sorry.)

Today, I (on a test.) renewed my EA Play, just to see what it did for the game. Shock of all shocks, it started installing! EA Play has locked the game behind itself, despite the fact that all I did with EA Play was use a discount.

  • Hey there,

It seems that someone will need to take a look at your account to review this for you. Once your EA Play expires, if you get locked out of your game once again, please contact EA Help Support as they should be able to check your account and help you with that.

  • @EA_cuervo Can confirm, it's locked behind EA Play. Couldn't find the ability to talk to EA Help Support. But I did find a bot who had THIS nugget of wisdom for me.

    1. If you purchased a game with a discount through EA Play, it is possible that the game is only accessible as long as you have an active EA Play membership.
    2. Check if your EA Play membership is still active by signing into your EA Account and checking the status of your subscription.
    3. If your EA Play membership has expired or been canceled, you may need to renew or reactivate it to regain access to the game you purchased with a discount.
    4. If you no longer wish to have an EA Play membership, you can contact EA Support for assistance in accessing the game without the membership.
    5. Keep in mind that the availability of games and discounts may vary depending on your location and platform.

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues contacting EA Help Support

If you're not getting the chat option when trying to contact support, can you please try:

    1. Go to: https://help.ea.com/en/help-home/
    2. Select the game you need assistance with or EA App
    3. Select "I want to update my EA Account information"
    4. Scroll down the page to find the "Chat with us" option

If the chat doesn't show up, please try doing that while logged out. Once selecting the chat option it will ask you to log in, but you can select the option to continue without logging in.

    I hope this helps!

  • @EA_cuervo I'd really love to, but I either get redirected to creating a case (which gets closed not long after.) or the chat option won't open...
