@EA_Darko I am not sure if you think your reply was relevant to the thread, but it really isn't.
Question is about how to use EA Play that was purchased on Steam through the Origin client bloatware which is a REQUIRED UTILITY that is needed in order to play Steam games that are offered as part of EA Play.
I am also finding myself unable to use EA Play because I subscribed with Steam Wallet Funds, and any game that I installed through Steam immediately crashes to desktop and loads the Origin client instead.

Hey @0R1G1NC4NB10WM3 in order to play most games on EA Play through Steam you will need to have Origin running.
If Origin is not installed or running then games will not play.

Hi @EA_Darko
I've done this, and played two EA games on the machine. They show up in Origin too. The problem that I suspect the others are facing is that Origin does not seem to realise that I've already purchased EA Play (through Steam). So if I look at any game in Origin's "Browse Games" menu, I always end up at at a page trying to sell me something that I thought I'd already purchased (a year subscription to EA Play).
Should I cancel the subscription on Steam to access the games that are available on Origin but not listed as EA Play on Steam?
It's mighty confusing. When you talk about Platforms - I'm guessing you mean launchers - Origin or Steam - despite the fact that Steam EA-Play games won't launch without Origin running and being logged in. Or am I missing something here?
- LilHelperOfEris5 years agoSeasoned Newcomer@LilHelperOfEris @EA_Darko Guess what I'm asking is - is EA Play lots of completely different products? So when I bought an EA Play subscription, I wasn't actually buying EA Play as it's advertised on Origin? Looking at my EA account there's no mention of EA Play on any Platform.

Hey @LilHelperOfEris if you are an EA Play member on Steam then you will need Origin running in order to launch many of the games but your EA Play membership does not transfer between platforms.
If you would like to play the EA Play games on Origin that are not available on Steam then you would need to be an EA Play member on Origin.
Darko why is that though? Does EA even have a plan to come out with cross platform? i originally started playing sims 4 on my origin account but my computer was broken and i switched to console. now all that money that i spent on Microsoft and paid with ea access is not accessible since im back on my newly bought computer... its just a hassle and makes me so frustrated that this game that is on multiple different platforms and then has no way to share content?! so now what im expected to buy all the packs all over again ☹️ its like it wasnt even a thought... game packs and expansions are expensive and the fact of the matter is i already own them why buy again. i love this game so much but im a mother i dont have funds to be blowing time and time again..

Hey @Heather_sco, as PC and console are different platforms then games purchased on one will not be playable on a different one. This is the same for all games and not something that is likely to change.
Darko
of course the game would be a little different but its been purchased so i just don't understand not being able to play the same game like you know if you buy a movie you have blu ray and the dvd but they're included together of the same movie. i guess i just dont understand.

Hey @Heather_sco, if you purchase a game on one platform then that game cannot be accessed on a different separate platform.
This is the same across almost all games and due to various issues and restrictions not something that is likely to change.
There is nothing more that I can add.
Darko
thank you!

Happy to help @Heather_sco.

That is absolutely insane. I am already paying your company 5 dollars a month for steam and you're saying I have to buy it again to use it on origin?? Where in the world does that make sense. My Origin account and steam account are fully linked and games I have purchased on steam even come up on origin. Yet I have to buy a whole new EA play pass???? What a joke.
- @CreamChzGangsta Ikr, * INSANE!

Hey all, when posting on AHQ please do so in a polite and constructive manner.
Darko No point being constructive when noone at this service listens. You are just money mongering. If I pay for steam, I have accesst to Crysis 2 and 3. If I want to complete the trilogy, I have to go and pay you more money. This is blatantly taking advantage of the consumer.
