Re: EA account linking to a new Xbox Account

I had the same issue today, I had a live chat with EA Help Agent and he told me to unlink my old account link your new account.

I tried to convince him that I can't link another account to this account due to EA terms but he insisted to do it. I unlinked my old account and I told him what I should do next.

He told me wait and I waited. after literally one minute he told me to try to link my new account and it magically LINKED. I wanted to thank him but he closed the case and marked it as "Fixed". His name is Ajay M.

Soooo, following AssassinXDAhmed's comment above (thank you!!), I have just been onto EA live chat and can confirm they have also helped me and I have FINALLY been able to connect my actual real xbox account with my real EA account and can now access games via xbox game pass!!!

I have been following this thread a long time like many of you, and have previously been told by EA help that this was not possible. The advisor I spoke to understood the issue straight away and confirmed to me that I had already unlinked my old xbox account (I did this months ago and have no access to it anymore).

They asked what my new xbox gamertag was and then 'did some tinkering' in the background. They then came back and told me to go and try to connect my account again. I tried it and it worked without an issue and no more stupid message that you can only connect one xbox account in a lifetime!

So folks, go and contact chat and hopefully they will resolve this for you too as it seems they have updated their policy on it, but haven't informed any of us!

    Good luck!

Hi how did you get in touch with one of the live customer services? I have been browsing around but couldn't find a portal that gets me to them. Thank you!

  • I'm on the same exact boat. How can I contact this live chat? I've clicked all the links, the only option on EA Help that made me open a case was when you need a refund. I've opened a case with that motivation explaining why but it just got resolved with no real answer.

It appears EA, in their drive to become even more user unfriendly have discontinued the live chat options as best I can see.

I have been able to have someone get back to me when I DM'd them on twitter, or tagged them in a post in the past. Might be your best bet.

    https://x.com/EAHelp?s=20

  • @tmase83 I've DM them but it seems to be a bot that will just redirect you to the support homepage... I've asked for a human being and will see if they answer.

This whole thing is just dumb. What if my xbox account was stolen, or lost, stolen email. There is a million reason for why someone would want to change that.

Bumping this until someone from the staff will acknowledge this issue. As of today is impossible to contact any kind of customer service, you can only make use of the guides in the EA Help page, which hardly solve any problem at all.

I've tried to contact the EA Help twitter account but it's just a bot basically, EA is basically forcing me to throw away my 11 years old account with ton of content and history and achievements so that I can use their service with my Xbox Game Pass. This is nuts.

Perhaps some of the community managers here can answer this question.

    @EA_Kent @EA_Barry @EA_Darko @EA_Solaire

Is there any way to get in touch with a support agent anymore? The posted solution for this issue requires human intervention at a support level. It currently appears that EA no longer has human live customer support agents. There looks to be no support chat option on the help.ea.com site, and your twitter is now managed by bots not people as it was in the past.

Kindly let us know how to contact a live, human support agent, or please suggest an alternative method for resolving this issue.

  • Somehow I've reached some support flow that prompet me to chat or send an email. I've set the country to United States in the bottom bar in EA Help, then used a VPN to have a US IP. Go to this URL https://help.ea.com/en/help-contact-us/?product=ea-account&platform=pc&topic=transfer-content-account&category=manage-my-account&subcategory=transfer-between-accounts and you'll find the option at the bottom.

Now I've got an active case, except the chat never popped out. Really. And the case got updated with the following informations

    CASE SUMMARY
    Link new Xbox account
    Updated October 19, 2023 at 05:16am

    Case #157492591

    Status: In Progress

Product: EA Account / Platform: PC / Category: Manage my account

And there's even a chat transcript but THERE IS NO CHAT!

You wouldn't have a pop up blocker or ad blocker that is preventing the chat window opening. Perhaps try a different browser?

  • Yeah I've tried cleaning the cache, different browser, adblocks disabled and so on. Now I've tried with the "Send us an email" option and hopefully someone will answer.

Do keep us informed if you have any success and we can update the posted solution.

Mods, any input from you guys would be appreciated.

  • It's been a week of back and forth email, every time I receive an email from the Customer Support I try to reply through my inbox (as I'm not given any other option) and the next day I receive an other email which looks like the begin of the whole process again. As of now, I went from 0 to 5 open cases and nobody still solved my issue. Anyone has tried it?

All the emails follow this script:

The name of the operator also changes on every email. Who knows, maybe at some nth email they'll finally fix the issue...

Oh my god we finally got it. On the page I linked earlier, select the "chat with us" button, now hopefully you get on a page telling you to wait and/or manage your other cases. DON'T LEAVE THAT PAGE. Just wait there and after a while the chat will finally pop open and the operator is really quick to solve your issue. Here's is the chat transcript for reference:
