Exact same Issue. I'm a PC guy who made the mistake of playing on an Xbox 360, for a month, 10 years ago and now I can't get access to the service I'm paying for.
I was able to unlink the dead 360 account without issue and now that I try to link the correct Microsoft account, I'm told my EA account can only have one Xbox account linked to it in its lifetime?! What's the point in giving the option to unlink the old account? It did nothing but hide the old account.
I've had the same Origin account since it launched. I don't want or need another one.
Expecting us to make a burner EA account, which requires creating a burner email account, just to use the service we're expected to keep subscribed to is absurd.
"Linked Accounts Found
Your accounts can’t be linked because the EA Account for *****@email.com was previously linked to the Xbox account for ******. An EA Account can only be linked to one Xbox account in its lifetime."
