DriveHub: No Force Feedback

Product: F1 23
Platform:Xbox Series S
Please specify your platform model. Microsoft Xbox One S
Summarize your bug No grip-related or suspension-related force feedback felt through Thrustmaster 300rs wheel when hooked up to Xbox series s via DriveHub. Was not an issue for F122. Thrustmaster wheel is designed for ps4, but DriveHub designed to port wheel to Xbox with full force feedback capabilities. As mentioned before, there were no issues with last year’s game.
What is your 16 digit Report Code?
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider?
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Single Player
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Force feedback settings, thrustmaster platforms.
What happens when the bug occurs? When driving there are no grip, suspension, or grip limiting forces felt through the thrustmaster wheel when racing. The only force felt is the rotation limit setting (360 degrees is my setting)
What do you expect to see? All force feedback felt through steering wheel during a race when PS4 thrustmaster 300rs hooked up to Xbox series s via DriveHub.

Summarize your bug When using DriveHub to connect a Thrustmaster 300rs wheel and pedals, there is no force feedback felt through the wheel during races. This has worked previously and was not an issue in F1 22. Thrustmaster 300rs is PlayStation model, connected to Xbox series one S (designed to do this)

What happens when the bug occurs? No grip-related force feedback at all is felt when driving. The only forces felt are the rotation limit forces set on the wheel (360 degrees is my setting)
What do you expect to see? Force feedback felt through drivingwheel when grip causes friction on the road, suspension forces, and grip limiting forces, when thrustmaster 300rs wheel is hooked up to Xbox series s via DriveHub.

  • @cmaster06 Hello! I'm running Drivehub but on a different config - Logitech G923 Xbox wheel on Xbox one, with a fanatec handbrake (handbrake not used for F1 though!)

Whilst there are the issues you reported at play for me as well, it doesn't seem to be the Drivehub at fault but rather support for the wheel that needs patching.

The first thing Drivehub support ask is whether you've updated firmware on both the wheel AND the Drivehub unit itself - have you tried this?

@HashbrownRolo Thanks for the response! I am using the DriveHub to change my wheel’s compatibility. I have a ps4 Thrustmaster T300 wheel that doesn’t have a recently updated firmware from Thrustmaster offered yet. My DriveHub is up to date on its firmware though. I think we are using our DriveHubs for different purposes, where I’m trying to port a ps4 wheel to an Xbox series s, versus you using an Xbox wheel with an additional attachment.

However, since the Xbox versions of the Thrustmaster wheel (TX) need updating, do you think I could update my ps4 T300 wheel with the new TX (Xbox) firmware?
  • @cmaster06 That is a very good question! I'm not sure if Thrustmaster would allow you to do that officially, and by forcing it via unofficial methods may invalidate your warranty - or even worse brick the wheel entirely.

I have tried using my wheel for cross compatibility using Drivehub before - a while back I used my Xbox wheel on PS4 for GT Sport so I know of the type of FFB you're expecting to get in F1 23.

When you power up the wheel & Drivehub and the light sequence starts on the Drivehub unit, does it read out your correct wheel model on the LCD screen? (For example, mine goes G-9-2-3 for my Logitech G923)

And also - I think there's a Thrustmaster problems thread on here - is your model one of the ones affected by problems when it is connected directly without the Drivehub in between?

There are issues with FFB on wheels that are under investigation / awaiting patch. I echo the advice given to ensure the Drivehub and the Logitech wheel firmwares are updated via PC.

Ultimately, you must remember that the Drivehub is unsupported as is the Fanatec handbrake (which can simply be left disconnected whilst playing).

The Thrustmaster flash routine will only accept the correct firmware files for the connected hardware. Crossflashing (via hacking) may lead to you bricking the wheel and it would invalidate your warranty.

A downflash is possible, but should only be considered if the new firmware has proven, replicable issues that do not occur with the older firmware.

I am experiencing same problems. No answer from collective minds drivehub support, as far as today. What does crossflashing mean and how can i do it? i am willing to risk it :D

Crossflashing is when you load a firmware designed for something else to either enable that functionality in a similar / or preferably identical piece of hardware.

I strongly suggest that you do not even think about attempting it as all you are likely to end up with is a paperweight i.e. a bricked wheel.

The wheels are different mechanically and electronically.
